Machu Picchu day. Wake up call at 4 in the am. Joe’s watch at 5:15, we were down for our complimentary breakfast by 5:30, packed for a day at this famous remainder of civilizations past. We were picked up in a van by our driver, with several other people. The train station was a chaotic mess of film and sandwich vendors, and frantically trying to get all of our various tickets. We were only partially successful in this endeavor and we pulled away from the station, assured that the remaining tickets would be supplied by ‘cusmi’.
